An IP address (internet Protocol Address) is a numerical label assigned to a computer network that uses the Internet protocol for communication. A unique Ip is usually assigned to each and every device that is connected to a computer network and each computer usually has its own unique IP. Think of a IP as your own personal digital fingerprint. Our IP allows our computers to communicate with internet internet databases. It serves two main purposes network interface identification and location addressing.

for wifi connection:

  1. On the taskbar, select Wi-Fi network > the Wi-Fi network you’re connected to > Properties.
  2. Under Properties, look for your Internet protocol address listed next to IPv4 address.

for ethernet:

  1. On taskbar select the Ethernet connection icon > the Ethernet network connection.
  2. Under Ethernet , select network connection.
  3. Under Properties, look for your IP address listed next to IPv4 Address.
